Go for the Modwright 36.5 ($5k - which I own). It has great bass and incredible resolution, dimensionality and continuousness. In both my opinion and that of a few very experienced friends of mine, it betters the CJ ACT2 Series 2 which I had in my system for a week.
Get a NOS Mullard GZ34 or GZ32 rectifier for the Modwright.
