.....and the Naim Train has only one terminus.....:
The upgrade hooks are there to start you samll and build a pathway towards "requiring" you to spend $5k/yr. until you have a CDS-555, 552, 500, Naim Fraim and Supercaps everywhere.
Just be careful.
Whay tou say is indeed true. However, just stay away from the Naim Forum and just enjoy your great little amp. Otherwise, this is what will happen:
1. You will add a Flatcap to your Nait
2. You will like it so much that you will upgrade to the SuperNait
3. 6 months later, you will hear that a 250/282 is the way to go
4. You will then add Supercaps
5. Now that you have the Supercaps, you can easily upgrade to a 252
6. By now, you will have found a used CDX2
7. Then your system will have grown beyong your speakers.
Fools they are not at Naim.
However, in the end - for me - diminishing returns took over and I got off the train and went elsewhere. I enjoyed the ride, was pleased with the journey, but am happier with other things.
As always.....YMMV.
