frankie..i have a goldmund 29m and DO use a tube preamp with it. i have an audio tekne 'simona' preamp and the combination is superb.having had tenor 75wi amps prior to purchasing the goldmund i can say that,imo,the goldmund is better,in my system.the preamp plays a big part in the overall sound as do the cables et al.
