Our friend David has had 3 versions of the H-Cat, the last one about 5 months back, I have not been impressed with any of these units and David's system is one that can and does "sing". He let them burn-in for many hundreds of hours and they just didn't grab either of us...he was hoping his H-Cat would make his foot start to tap, but it never did. Maybe it's very system dependant but David bought a McIntosh pre and couldn't be happier. YMMV
