Your VAC amp must of been broken because that is not how it sounds at all. I communicated with you when you got it and don't what your system problem was, but my PA100/100 is full, lush and to die for. Not as you describe at all. The VAC, in my opinion, is one of the best tube amp for the used price around. I do use a VAC Standard Preamp LE which may provide more synergism. It also is the most reliable component I've had, rock solid. Perhaps your tubes were not properly chosen.
