RE: Pretty sure this amp is class B not AB

"Class B amplifiers are those in which the output transistors only conduct during half (180 degrees) of the signal waveform. To amplify the entire signal, two transistors are used: one conducting for positive output signals and the other conducting for negative outputs."

So, one transistor completely shuts off before handing off to the other one. That is Class B.

This will ALWAYS cause a zero crossing distortion because of the non-linearity in transistors turn on and shut off. This cannot be eliminated through the use of negative feedback and no matter how small it will always produce unpleasant distortion. It is particularly damaging at low volumes where the relative contribution to the signal is larger.

I don't care how low the distortion of this amp is, the inherent sonic issues with Class B will still be there at some level and will be audible.
