Yep, that's what makers do

What's funny is that the "voicing" is so highly subjective. Makers may or may not aim for a "house sound". The trap for the listener is that their preferences may, and probably will, change over time. How much time and money is spent by audiophiles on "upgrades" or horizontal swaps in a quest for subjective perfection is the actually the result of an evolution of taste?

What's less funny is that too may makers charge ridiculous prices for their particular voicing, and all too often that is merely maker prestige. And of course, many makers' inputs are largely comprised of sumptuous esthetics and/or absurd physical over-engineering that has nothing to do with the sound.
