RE: Anyone ever change caps in a Quicksilver mid-mono?

If they are the same yellow ones he uses on the minis, they should say the impedance and voltage. As for type and make, I compared several (different ones in each mono. I ended up using AN (UK) Copper foils. If you want to go a much cheaper way, try the Russian K-40s. There's a lot written about them on FIY tube forum. I tried old Jensen copper foil (aluminun tube) and Mundorf silver oil and the K-40s. Those Mundorf's are good.

I you want, the Audio Note silver foils will almost always sound better than anything else as a coupling cap, but they are soooo expensive, just like V-Caps, which are also expensive.

The Russian K-40s are better than everything I have listened to EEXCEPT the AN Copper and silver foils, the Mundorf silver oils, and probably V-Caps, but i have not made that comparison.
