Do not assume that "more" is "better".If all you want is lots of watts, any of the Pro Audio amps like QSC Audio, Crown, Carver Pro, etc. will give that to you.
If you want more refined "musical" sound, quite a few folks prefer tubes.
There is no one answer for everyone. The Panasonic receivers do offer extremely good sound for the money. If you like the sound of the digital amps, TacT amps use the same TI Equibit technology as the Panasonic receivers. They also offer room and speaker correction with their preamp. That will cost you quite a bit more money than an SA-XR70
You have not let us know what speakers you are using or what size room they are in. What is the sub you are using? What room treatments do you have? What is your source? What do you want to accomplish with your system?
