My SA-XR50 took a couple of hundred hours to break in. For the money it is pretty good. See my posting above. With the BPT AC conditioner on it, the Panny really comes into it's own. Easily the best sounding SS set-ups that I've owned. Still it does not have the midrange magic of my tube rig, but it's close. The Panny does not have the reach out a grab type of midrange that I get with tube gear.
