I have been using the XR45 thus far with the digital input from a Toshiba DVD (coaxial cable).I am expecting the poor sound quality to disappear after an extended break in period as was previously reported by other owners.
I could not judge the extent of the break in with the XR50 since it was not brand new when it was purchased.
