I ordered a Panasonic SA-XR50 from J&R just to play with after seeing the posts here. $249 with free shipping. I hooked it up in my garage with a cheap Toshiba SD-K510 DVD player that I bought on impulse at Sam's Club last year. Hooked the direct coax feed and played them through some big old vintage KLH-5 speakers. ....I thought I'd "burn it in".Jeez, right out of the box that rig is stunning. I never knew regular CD's could sound this good. As God is my witness, I've probably got $20,000 worth of audio equipment. None of it is better than this. Maybe not as good.
