I try and give people the benefit of the doubt though.
This guy dont know me, and for all he knew, I was just some kid running my mouth without a frame of reference.
No harm done, I question thing, and he has the right to question me too.
Like you, I am having a blast with the Panasonic, my expensive stuff is sitting on a shelf.
I had two audio friends over here to hear the 801's with the Panasonic and they about shit.
Thats the whole fun about it, it sounds good, and its cheap.
Anyone can spend thousands, and if they pick the right stuff, get good sound.
But, to spend 300 and get it, now thats an accomplishment.
i just put a Panasonic based system together for a friend,
We ordered thee Panasonic Sa XR 45, and the matching progressive scan dvd and cd player,
Then, I found him a set of old KEF 105 speakers for 300 dollars locally in mint shape.
The system was less than 800 dollars and sounds amazing for the price.
The Old KEF 105's were a Raymond Cook design, and they are extremely musical and image all over the place.
They were great speakers, and for 300 bucks, they were a steal.
My buddy isnt an "Audiophile" he is a music lover.
He plays acoustic country geetar in a blue grass/folk band.
He loves the sound he is getting, and i dare say, with some pride, that his system will mop many mega buck systems when it comes to sounding like music.
