Some even have pedigree. I guess they missed that one. It's fun reading high-end audio marketing. They have to one-up each other to set themselves apart from the competition. It's pretty hard to do when it boils down to commodity products that all do the same thing - reproduce music.
I especially enjoy reading 'technical white papers' that are just cleverly disguised marketing.
I once saw a 'technical ad' for fast cables. The ad featured (an obviously bogus) picture of two square-wave signal traces on an oscilloscope screen to show just how fast these cables were. It showed the signal at the output of the cable arriving a bit sooner than the signal going into the cable. Now that's freak'n fast! [And hilarious].
