My speakers are 16 ohm, tube friendly and a very easy load. Five watts will get the horns into ear bleed levels cleanly.
Your Thiels and the Maggies are 4 ohm, nasty load speakers.
Anyway, my main music system is in my office with tubes. The other system is also synced with the office system, but is used mostly in the evening for HT. Still, the PS Audio amp works fine for me. It's not as good as a tube amp or I should say is not tube like. For me I can't complain, the bass is great and the rest is clean and is fine to my ears. Do I like the DR-9 better, yeah, it's a great amp, on the dark side...oh well...I can live with the S300.
