There was one occasion he came to visit JWC when HP was also in Atlanta. I was invited to join and enjoyed a delightful day with them.
I think his amps are better known than preamps. I heard a pair of Rite of Passage amps drive 20.1s at Sea Cliff. Simply wonderful. They incorporated a squadron's worth of MiG Foxbat 6C33C radar tubes. And required two power cords per amp. Jud said one mattered sonically while the other didn't. I liked the fact that there was on an board meter for calibrating bias.
