First of all, the recording must have 'great powerful bass'. Then, all the amp needs to have is a flat frequency response in-between 20-Hz and 20-kHz.
Of course, you also need speakers that can reproduce 'great powerful bass'. If you don't have those, then you need subwoofers. If you have powered subwoofers, you can adjust their volume to compensate for any lack of bass in your amplifier.
I've been using subwoofers in all my audio systems for the past 30-years because I like 'great powerful bass'. Currently, I use a pair of 12" servo controlled subs, which seem to do an excellent job of producing 'great powerful bass'.
