Yes the Pass was a nice sounding amp. However as I recall the VTV Purifi stereo with VTV buffer and Sparkos SS3602 op amps has the edge for detail & transparency -- not to say the Pass X150.5 was bad in these respects. The Pass had slightly warmer sound overall, notably in the mid-bass, however I feel the Purifi goes a bit deeper and is more controlled. If anything the Purifi is slightly sweeter on the high top end, at least with the Sparkos op amps.
Without the warm up the Pass was OK but, as I recall, a bit "cleaner" on the top end after 30-40 minutes.
NOT the 51st state, eh!?!
