RE: A couple hours for the bias to settle?

The closest thing I had to triode amps were a pair of flea power Cary 45 monoblocks that were on loan to me. They had a nice lush tone but became very flabby and fat in the bass if I turned them up to even modest listening levels. These amps would have done better with high efficiency speakers. My 6 Ohm nom. 91dB Tannoys aren't THAT difficult but they do require more Watts to really shine.

The other tube amps I really enjoyed were the AES/Cary SixPac EL34 monoblocks with 6 EL34 per block. I think these were push-pull 3 per side and they may have been wired as triodes but I'm not sure about that.
