All Class D amplifiers use a ultrasonic output filter. The Devialet ADH has no such filter. It doesn't require one, because it is not a Class D amp per se. That's why Devialet calls it ADH. It uses Class D as the current source, but the signal itself is Class A. That, IMHO, qualifies as a different topology from ALL other Class D amps. Devialet does call it ADH, not Class D.The current dumping section is Class D, but not the voltage itself. That is Class A, which is one of the key reasons it sounds as good as it does.
