Yes, you're right. I've had the Atma-Sphere Class Ds for about 3 weeks so they should be performing at their best.I should have posted my thoughts on these monos compared with the Purifi amp in the M33 earlier, but the reason I haven't is just that I really cannot notice any difference in the sound.
If I was told that A-S secretly used a Purifi module, I wouldn't be in the least surprised. Really the only difference is the volume control adjustment that needs to be made when switching. The NAD needs the preamp to be turned down 4dB to compensate for its higher output.
I would like to borrow top quality preamp to feed these 2 amps for a better omparison but with the M33 acting as DAC and preamp, there's absolutely nothing between there 2 great amps. Pity really as I was optimistically hoping for more
