I don't see anyone could go far wrong with a Purifi amp. It's bargain-price, (let's face it), and if you find it lacking warmth than you can put a tube or other warming component upstream. In case of the VTV amp with VTV buffer you can try different op amps, e.g. Burson.
For me there was no problem with the Purifi when playing very good recordings, unfortunately a high proportion of recordings are not so good, being overly bright or whatever. Presently I'm using it with a Sonic Frontiers tube preamp which adds just a small bit of warmth and other tube effects.
