Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to see that I'm not chasing ghosts with the output transformers and your data is perfect and collaborates my suspicions.
BTW, I've identified four resonant frequencies for the OPT, where it audibly "peaks": 1.0, 2.05 KHz, 3.4 and 8.7 KHz. Not that great an iron!
The voltage gain from the phase inverter to the 16 ohm output is about 1, which probably means the 6550's in this amp are "hot", but not excessively so.
I traced a few signals and seems to be an issue in the front-end, most likely the pentode.
The amp is supposedly unmodified, except for better caps, but I measured a voltage gain of 160 to the 16 ohm output with the feedback closed. Can't be right...
In any case, that's good news, because I'm replacing the 6AN8 with a new front-end.
