RE: Eico HF12

The HF-12 really needs some safety precautions before firing it up. For one thing, the 12 doesn't have a fuse! For another, there is a small bypass cap wired directly across the incoming 120VAC. These caps are usually leaky after all these years and that can cause a dangerous high voltage to appear on the chassis.

I have a pair of HF-12's and they can sound very good indeed, but they first need some attention by someone who knows what he is doing.
