Hi, Cougar,I purchased a NAD M22 power amp (customized Hypex NCore) in March of 2017 and it's still performing well, driving a pair of Dynaudio Contour S1.4 speakers. I don't listen to the main stereo system every day so it's not getting used as much as our background music stereo, but the M22 does get used on a regular basis. It runs relatively cool when used for 2 to 3 hours at a time and runs with a bit of warmth (not even close to hot) when used for extended listening of 6 to 8 hours or more. Other than my Acoustec PH-1P phono preamp, the M22 runs the coolest of any of my stereo components.
And just to add, regarding Class D power amp durability, I'm also running two Velodyne Optimum 10 powered subwoofers that utilize Class D plate amps and those have been in the system since 2010. Still running just fine. However, I also had a Velodyne DLS-3750 powered subwoofer and the plate amp failed after six years. Big difference in build quality between the two subwoofers though. As others have suggested, you get what you pay for.
