presumably many of the more expensive brands customers would walk away if they didn't add some difference that distinguishes them and makes them stand out in the minds of their customers. At least in that case, the marketing division can argue how much more subjectively beautiful it is while insulting anybody who says it isn't better for being deaf and/or not having a resolving enough system. Sure there are very tiny differences being measured between the various manufacturers versions. Maybe that's worth big bucks to some. These high end companies turned into bandwagon jumpers better hope so.
