RE: Anyone, power supply made for British power grid? ...

I lived and studied ee in the U.K. And did lots of diy there as well,the only major difference was in the amperage delivered,
For example a 240 v item would use a 2 amp fuses,while a 120 v unit would use a 4 amp fuse,,the English guy would always laugh that the voltage in the USA won't kill you but we're clueless about double of amperage.
Now as for quality ,I am sure the pioneers ran on maybe a 50 volt rail ,so it did not matter how it got it,
I have personally experienced when I first mover from London to Kyoto then to NYC,I took my little Cyrus amp and rogers speakers,the amp sounds like crap in Japan and the USA due to cheap power converters,I realized it's the quality of rooms and construction that's the big difference
I remember the pioneer amp you mention it was good for the background and cheap,typical marketing hype really.
