But if semiconductor internal parts count alone is reason enough to dismiss something, then there's an awful lot of preamps, DACs, phono stages, tuners, etc. etc. which aren't worthy of consideration based on having one op-amp per channel.
I've never heard the Aunt Corey's buffered [insert disputed semantic here], so I'm not defending it in any way. But I also wouldn't dismiss it simply because it used a BUF-03.
