Honor your warrantee (customer)...

...A defective product is in no way the customer's responsibility, regardless of exasperate communication.

I think shipping costs (and damage) should be shouldered by the manufacturer's return policy -- that may create incentive for better QC, which a manufacturer has the power to control.

The QC problem seems to me a growing one, and must be a tough problem for sellers and end users alike.
