RE: Tact nightmare. Buyer beware.

Here's my 2 cents, after owning both 5 TACT components and reading various yahoo forums over the years. As usual, its never so black and white as people make it out to be
- The poster gdg if it is the same gdg that has posted over the years is fairly demanding, has blown his cool more than once, perhaps a difficult customer?
- TACT tech support is Boz, who is very busy, always willing to help and offer comments, always fair, but is somewhat disorganized and overwhelmed at times with the amount of work. I've waited longer than gdg for replacements, so I would fully believe gdg's story about the length of time it took.
Bottom line about TACT: they make very nice components, charge about half what the competitors charge, but have lousy manuals, offer excellent phone support, but poor response times often for physical repairs. I've kept my cool and they try do make good when they mess up. It's run more like a small shop than a large business. Would you pay double for great customer service? Some may (then go buy a Lyngdorf), some may not (go buy a TACT). I for one own both TACT and Lyngdorf components. I think this puts this thread in perspective. Neither party is faultless.
