RE: Congrats Mr Pig!

Oh I would tend to agree that a selectable resistor system would make the best volume control. It does work quite nicely. Matter of fact, each channel is independent so balance control is achieved by varying the resistors on one side. It's just odd to hear the pre-amp click like a piece of industrial equipment.

However, you should see the remote on this thing. Its robust, and quite substantial. If you drop it your gonna be putting a smack down on some toes.

The sound is slowly improving. I noticed that the sides of the soundstage are expanding, especially in terms of depth in the corners. Tonal balance is pretty much unchanged. It doesnt have quite the midrange maigic of my SET amps, but the tonal balance is also alot more even.

The goal is to bring in a pair of planars. I wonder if that combo will give me back the final bit of detail and "you are thereness" that my low powered tube set up was capable of. Still have alot of sorting out to do to see where thigs end up at. Too early to make definitive observations.

Regards
Mister Pig
