The Ayre VX-R is certainly a very nice looking amp with outstanding casework but there are plenty of great amps available for ~$15K, and much less.
There's obviously huge cost in the premium chassis work, as there is in other Colorado based audio products from companies like Boulder and Jeff Rowland.
I wonder what makes this Ayre so special (and so pricey)?
