I had a Goldmund SRI from just before they added the JOB circuit. I also had a Goldmund SRI with the JOB circuit while my original SRI was getting fixed. (Long story there)Anyway, I found the mids and highs of the JOB to be the best I've heard but it was just a tad lean. The other SRI was still very open and detailed but less so. The other SRI also had a fat articulate bottom end which I preferred.
I found myself wanting something RIGHT BETWEEN these two sonically. After Goldmund upset me again with a faulty amplifier, I found what I was looking for. I have had a Bryston B100 SST for a while now and spent lots of time auditioning. I find its sonic signature smack dab between the old SRI and the SRI II. It hit the sweep spot. I am very happy now. ;)
