Owned the DarTZeel, heard the Goldmunds

I used to vertically biamp two DarTZeels--operative words being "used to." IMO, the amps are way overrated and overpriced. If you have even a moderately demanding speaker and like to listen to dynamic music, I wouldn't consider it, even briefly. But that's just my opinion. I've heard Goldmund amps on a number of occasions, the most recent being the Telos 600s--and I've always been VERY impressed. They're hideously expensive, but they're truly incredible amps, and built to the most exacting tolerances I've ever seen. The FM Acoustics amps are stunning too, but the prices are ludicrous. If I hadn't gone the custom-amp route, I would've gone with the Telos 600s and never looked back. In fact, it or its successor may be my next amp a few years hence. Who knows? But, if you want my opinion, if I had to choose between Goldmund and DarTZeel, I would go with the Goldmund without hesitation. Better sound and much less finicky. And built to withstand a tank hit.
