Since you mentioned Magnepans, I heard one FM amp (the "entry" level stereo) driving a pair of 3,6 magnificently (and orchestral music to boot). And it's rated something like ~70W /channel??
I also heard another stereo piece called "611" (I remember that one). Now that's exquisite -- and it offers significantly more output energy than the smaller unit (about 6db spl extra).They're expensive -- but surely nowhere near 32k for goodness sake:)! As you mention the power doubling advantage of the Goldmund over the Dart, remember that this extra energy will only yield a headroom of ~3db extra spl.
Sorry to side-track you -- but compared to Goldmund (which I've always enjoyed), the FM is much better.
I've never heard the Dart.
