and are much more expensive than solid state - watt per dollar. I’ll concede that I’ve yet to hear a solid state amp (including my listing below) replicate the harmonic (colorations, texture, and shading) or lit-from-within (3dimensionality, bloom, presence) of tubes. Nor, have I heard a tube amp replicate the speed, precision on the attack side of a note as well as solid-state.To me, solids excel on the attack and tube excel on the decay.
