I think any quality preamp manufacturer will make a good analog section of a pre/pro. In any case, I don't need the pro part because of the decoding units in the players these days.I am surprised that Meitner "blew away" the McCormack. It would seem to me hard to tell the differences between brands like McCormack, Conrad Johnson, Classe', Bel Canto, (not Proceed)etc. "Blew away" would make the 2X cost seem worthwhile for the Meitner. Nice that you got to spend time with both machines!
