Out of an initial order by Parasound of fifty pairs of JC-1's, twenty five of which are already in the field, one amplifier has experienced a minor problem which has required its return to Parasound. The failure resulted from a premature parts failure. The very sophisticated protection circuit shut the amp down with no damage to either speakers or the output stage. Given the notorious record of many high end manufacturers, I would say that this is excellent reliability. Also note that Parasound was absolutely first rate in providing support of the malfunctioning amplifier. Also note that I have no financial interest in Parasound and the amp in question is owned by a close friend.Of more interest is early feedback from Brian Walsh and other Soundlab owners in Chicago with respect to use of the Parasound on Soundlab U-1 speakers. In comparison to a pair of 100 watt Atmospheres, the JC-1's were revelatory. Perhaps Brian will comment at length as I have only heard about the listening session third hand.
