Abe would be the best source to answer the heat question. However I've seen several personal reviews mention heat. So I'm going to go with recap the darn thing.

Personal comment: I would NEVER leave anything on where I didn't have my eyes on it. I've just had too many surprises (and one tube amp literally go up in flames). Also why add unnecessary burn time on your components. SS warms up in a few minutes. Even my tube amps warm up in a few minutes.
