Oh I don't doubt that at all. In fact I'm sure of it. My point is too many have fear they are gonna fail. I'm doing some Sansui and Marantz pieces to sell on Craigslist.They are fine. As a seller I know if I obtained the parts and installed them unless there was a kit just finding the parts and ordering them would take at least three hours, installing them 3-6 depending on a lot of variables and that I could never recoup a third the money when selling it.

In fact thats one of the reason I have no vintage gear. Except TT's. That and parts quality is so much better now meaning better sound in some to most cases. I'd never recap one of those Marantz receivers their amp sections suck due to whimpy power supplies. I will own nothing SS that doesn't double its power when going from 8 to 4 ohms

Sure someday I may do a Citation ll or Eico HF-60 but I'd never do a receiver or preamp etc. for myself.
