No, the Eico HF-81 has a preamp built in. It is an integrated amp with a phono stage. Adding another level of gain stages will only add noise and distortion and give you much too much gain. Enjoy the HF-81 for what it is. If what you want to use the Adcom as a tuner use the 'tape out' RCA jacks on the Adcom into the HF-81 tuner inputs.
