I have owned an Audio Research LS15 for the last 6 years and it is an outstanding pre-amp at its price point. If you do end up purchasing one you really do need to purchase some NOS tubes to find out what this pre amp is capable of. I purchased some Amperex 7308 tubes from the early 1960s and the difference it made has been the most significant of any upgrade I've ever made. I've only recently (the last few days) upgraded my pre amp to an Audio Valve Eklipse and am going to purchase some NOS tubes for it and would be happy if the improvement is only half as much as it was with the LS15. Oh, and with Maggies (I have 3.6s) you really need to have some tubes somewhere in the chain. Good luck and let us know which road you go down.
