Emotiva XPA-1 Gen2--inexpensive and powerful, yes, but hi-end? Or wanna-be?

I'm fantasizing about a pair of these for my upcoming Revel Salon2s. I believe the Emotiva folk when they say it's their best-sounding amp, but just how good is that? I guess I have a slight preference for monoamps and Class-A biasing (for which the XPA1/2 has a swithchable option and which would certainly help heat my house in the nonsummer), but stereo amps, too, are OK. I'm also considering the Bryston 4B3, their newish 300Wpc/8 amp which has gotten lots of very positive reviews.

For instance, if you had power-hungry speakers to feed and one could find a Bryston 4B3 stereo amp (300Wpc/8, 600Wpc/4) for less money than its $5700 retail price, would you buy the XP1-G2s or the at-least-twice-as-expensive 4B3? Or something else (NOT more expensive)?

PS. I already own a conrad-johnson ET250S poweramp--hybrid, zero-feedback, 250Wpc/8, 400Wpc/4, Premier-level-quality--that ought to drive the Salon2s very well. As I wrote, I'm fantasizing. :-)
