Advantage of an integrated is that you no longer need a piece of wire to connect them (coloration).
If you are using tubes (especially good tube equipment),you may find the transition somewhat more difficult.
You will probably enjoy the KT-88/dynamic driver combo.
As far as digital goes,I like the "memory players" parasound,PS,MSB).Pair these with a good $1500-$2000 dac and experiment with cabling/cords to your satisfaction.
The one thing that nobody addresses in "streaming" is the quality of sound changes measurably,when the "bit-rate" changes from the supplier.
