No, I love the sound of well designed tube products, but I'm too old for that any more. The tubes are either sounding better (breaking in) or sounding worse (wearing out). Then you have to decide when to replace them. Should you wait until you think you hear a difference? Or until you're sure you hear a difference? Or when they sound really bad and you can't stand it any more? Then what will the new ones sound like? Maybe your original tubes sounded better than the Chinese or Russian replacements today. Or should you go off on a "Treasure Hunt" to find some NOS American or European made tubes before they stopped production in the early '70s. But that can get very expensive very quickly. Then there is adjusting the bias on the power amp...

Not in my experience. Instead I would say that more and more manufacturers are building even expensive components with IC op-amps that don't sound that different from inexpensive ones. Then you don't hear much of a difference because there isn't much of a difference. That way it seems like like speakers make a bigger difference, but it's really just because there is less variation in the sound of electronics. Just my opinion, YMMV.
