There are other serious implementations.

I have to hand it to Hypex for their OEM business model though. Leaving out the input stage allows manufacturers to implement their own setups, marketing, tweako-parts, etc, etc. This allows to greatly inflate/broaden the price points for these amplifiers. It plays right into the weakness audiophiles have for this type of gear. :)

This represents a "customizing" product, and there are similar analogous product offering schemes for many consumer products.
