"Next Generation"?

I'm pleased you've found the Taranis amplifier sounds great in your system.

I'd argue with one comment you made. You described the Ncore module as "next generation". By definition the "next" generation has yet to come. It is more likely the "latest" generation. You probably grabbed that expression from Merrill's blurb - don't be taken in by rubbish talk that's intended to pull the wool over customers' eyes and imply something it isn't! Slapped wrist Merrill.

I've just bought a digital amplifier (apparently not Ncore based) that I am mightily impressed with. The NAD M32 integrated at £3600 / $4000, but this of course includes a preamp and DAC that you may have as extra boxes. With the BluOS streaming module fitted (£300 / $300) it also finds your NAS or PC stored music, Tidal and other streaming services and Internet radio. Just add speakers.

The sound is astonishing for the price. I compared it with the NAD M12 digital preamp with conventional (MOSFET) £10,500 GamuT D200 Mk III power amplifier, which in itself sounds fantastic and with other power amps such as the Class A Accuphase D-36. I can honestly say that the M32 sounds equally good at a fraction the price of the separates.

If you already have and enjoy your preamp and need that whopping 400 watts, the addition of the Merrill makes good sense. For me, I sceptically looked at the integrated (expecting to be disappointed) but was astonished at the equally good sound from the NAD. Its 150 watts is ample for most speakers and more than enough for my 102dB Avantgarde horns.
