I think that what is happening is that the "Asian" model particularly refers to pieces supplied to Japan which is , as far as I am aware ( and I am not aware of so much) the only country that is formally 50/60 Hz as it has two incompatible power grids. Of course the manufacturer does not know if the end customer has a 50 or 60 Hz supply. So all models are supplied with a transformer for areas with a 60 Hz supply ( perhaps the manufacturer has most of his dealers in 60Hz Western Japan?). For those living in a 50 Hz area the specifications provide a " worst case" power output rating.
