1) I can't speak directly about the V12i, but when I owned a SuperAmp, I was told by Kirk at Cary, that it was actually harder on the amp to leave it in Standby for long periods of time...2) There was a notable difference in sound and volume when my SuperAmp was switched from Triode to Ultralinear. However, with my SLI-80, I can detect very little change...
