Question / Comment for V12i users

Just two questions / observations regarding the Cary V-12i.
1) I am wondering if it is correct for all three blue indicator lights to come on simply because the unit is in the Power On mode (even if the other switch is set to StandBy)? I usually listen to music for three or four hours every day, so I assume I should leave the power in the 'On" position, and just use the "Operate / Stand By" switch, is that correct?
2) I had assumed that there would be a fairly large difference in sound when switching between the 50w triode mode and the 100w ultralinear mode - particularly in volume. But, there seems to be nearly no change in either sound OR in volume. I thought that with fairly efficient speakers (102dB), a significant volume difference would be present.
